Gamespy has put up a nice little tweak guide for our such beloved game. Are you not getting the FPS that you want? Are the textures looking grainy? Is your PC up to the task of producing J.C. and the other cast as real life figures that walk off your monitor and into your room? Do you need glasses?
O.k., well, it won't answer all these questions, but it will definitely give you some suggestions on how to get the game running better if you don't have 'The Ultimate Barbarian Machine'.
Just click right here to get the most out of your computer.....and the game.

This was posted at Deus-Ex.Org. The new site has tutorials already available along with their very first review. We wish them luck with their site, and would also like to thank them for expanding the community even further. Here is the site, which by the way, is called 'Deus Ex Editing'.
|
This was posted yesterday at Blues News. I will simply copy and paste the news link in its entirety with all the links active so that you can check it out for yourself.
According to a post on Joystick News, there seems to be a possibility that a patch to add multiplayer capability to Deus Ex may be in the works over at ION Storm. It's a bit hard to figure out, as the site is in French, but the pigeon translation services of Babel Fish seem to indicate that this information was gleaned by someone they know during a visit to ION's offices. Thanks Stomped. More on this story when we have it.
To be honest with you, I'll believe it when it's actually confirmed from Ion Storm Austin.

3DActionPlanet has an interview with Warren Spector and other game developers about the evolution of the FPS. Warren gives us his perspective on the FPS genre, and his uniqueness shines bright through his words. An excellent read that you can find right here.

We have 5 brand new MP3's up for download. They are the main themes of the Airfield, End Title (2), Main Title, NYC Streets and UNATCO. These were supplied by an individual that is known simply as Don.
If anyone else has anything they'd like to offer, our door, or site rather, is always open.
Enjoy the MP3's. They can be found under the Sound link.

Gamespy has posted this funny interview with the two brothers. It had me rolling on the floor. O.k., so maybe I enjoyed it a bit too much, but you need to get on over there and check it out for yourself. Trust me, even if you're having a bad day, it'll at least make you smile.

Absynthe has just sent word that his strategy guide is finished and is now up at Gamespy. We will be adding this link to our Community section shortly. In the meantime, go here.

DX Walkthrough Complete at Denton's Databank
9:47:28 AM EST - BackDoorBandit
|
Denton's Databank has finished its walkthrough of DX. It has been finished now for about 3 weeks. Absynthe, has assured us that the walkthrough will be going through a streamlining process where he'll be updating all levels as they seem a bit lengthy. He has also given us permission to post his walkthrough to this site, so be looking for it within the next week under the Game Data section.

Here is the information that I received in its entirety.
Jamaican Escape, a single-playermod formerly in development for Half-Life,
is now being developed for Deus Ex. More information about JE is available
from our JE website at http://jescape.drunkencoon.com. The homepage for our
development team (Drunken Raccoon Productions) is http://www.drunkencoon.com.
The website is currently incomplete, so the content isn't all there;
however, it will be added within the next few days. Expect to see
beta-testing signups, more detailed information, and more coming soon.
Run over to their site and checkout all the information on this upcoming Mod. For future reference of this Mod just check our Community section, their link will be posted there.

Lancer is working on the links and new sections of the site. We are trying diligently to get you the content you want on this site, but we are experiencing some delays in getting fresh content. Some of the pages that are linked have not been activated yet. But that will be completed within the next couple of days.
As you can see, we have added a Downloads section where the demo, patch, and SDK, as well as any player Mods/Levels will be uploaded.
Other changes include the Review link which has eight new links to review sites that we thought were credible. If you see a review, but it's not in our Reviews section and you'd like to see it there, then email me the site. We added two more sites under the Community link as well, Denton's Databank and Deus Ex Fortress
Email me and let me know what you think of the site, and tell me the content you'd like to see. We're here for the community, so we're looking forward to hearing from you.

Here's an article that was written a couple of months ago, but I don't think it has been posted here yet. This article is an excellent read. It gives you plenty of past, present, and future information on Warren Spector.

DeusEx is in the stores in France
7:38:50 AM EST - Lancer
|
This isn't offical news, but from what I've been hearing at the forum lately, the French version of DeusEx has been on the store shelves since the ending of September.
Quite a long thread, mostly in French, by our French counterparts raving about the game.
At least I think they are as I don't speak the language.
Let us know what you think of the accents used in Paris.

Digital Extremists Review DeusEx

As you can see, Lancer has added two links as of last night. Actually he added one, but changed another to include Reviews.
He added a Downloads link in which we will be putting the Demo (the newer one which lets you play the first two missions of the game), the D3D Beta Patch, and the SDK under. Once we get those things on there, then we will create a Mods/Levels section underneath the Downloads link so that once people start pumping out those sacred joys of fun, we can direct you right to them.
The second thing that he changed was the Preview link. Now that the game has been out for a while, we found it appropriate to change this to Reviews, and to add such things underneath it. We will leave the Previews there for all your reading pleasure, but will also start linking to reviews as well.
The ball is rolling, and the changes have begun.......Now lets start getting your input.

Hello all. Lancer and I have been summoned by the Gods over at TTLG to get this site back up and running on its feet. Actually, they asked for some people that were interested in keeping the site updated and getting the community involved with it. This is where Lancer and I come into play, as well as yourselves.
We all know that web sites can't survive without the help and aid of the community, so I'm urging all of you to go tell your friends about the revival of this site and I also urge everyone to submit any screenshots (no matter how silly or mentally disturbed they look), fanfiction, and any Mods or levels you'd like to share with the community.
Lancer and I will be working very hard to get this site back on track and will be implementing a couple of new routine things like a bi-weekly poll, pic of the week, and eventually a weekly column from yours truly :) We are currently in the beginning stages of things and ask that you bare with us as we get things running again and implementing new things. Also, if you want to see something on the site that we don't already have, then send us suggestions. I'm not saying we'll definitely implement it, but it will at least be taken into consideration.
In closing, I'd like to encourage everyone to go visit the DX Forums over at TTLG and join in on the discussions.
We look forward to your input and your patronage and hope that you help us make this a respectable DX site.
BTW, if you want to contact me or have something to submit and want to know where to submit it, then here's my email jamesowebb@hotmail.com or you can simply click on my alias and email me. Remember, you won't be submitting anything to my email address, I'll give you that site when I've read your request of what you want to submit.
PEACE!
