DX2 Screenies @ Official DX2 site!
11:04:49 PM EST - Eberon
|
In a rather unfortunate turn of events (for PCG anyway), the latest screenshots of Deus Ex 2 have appeared recently at the official website. This does not of course mean that the October issue of PCG is useless; quite the opposite in fact. There are still many great things within including a little background information on how missions will play out in the sequel. At any rate, get over and see the hires screenies!

TNM seeks a coder (once again).
10:00:36 PM EST - Eberon
|
Trestkon of the The Nameless Mod informs us that the team is again looking after a coder to replace Winquman (pardon any possible butchering of his nickname). Applications from dedicated and talented persons can be sent to this address. Give 'em a hand if you can!

PC Gamer's Got it ON!
5:28:25 PM EST - Eberon
|
This month's PCGamer is oh-so-worth-it. It's even worth the $7 or $8 or whatever they're charging on news stands these days. Not only is there some awesome coverage of games like Homeworld 2 (!), Full Throttle 2 (rejoice!), and the PC version of Halo (finally came through!), but there is a one-page feature of Deus Ex 2. My goodness, fellow Agents, this is most definitely going to be the big one. If I had not known that the shots were from Deus Ex 2, I would have, without a doubt, guessed that they were from a pre-rendered environment exploration game (think Myst and its ilk). The environment is so heavily saturated with beauty that I can't help but get psyched.
When this baby hits news stands (I hear from Rob Smith that'll be the 27th), be sure to snag it. If you have a subscription, well, you should camp by your mailbox to be sure nothing happens to your issue.

New Thievery mutator / Humans Vs. Shades
9:06:29 AM EST - Eberon
|
The Invisible Online crew have been working lately to crank out a new version of the Thievery mutator. This was just recently released. In addition, promises of a new version of their Shades Vs. Humans mod have missed their mark, but I'm sure the new version isn't too far off. Be sure to keep checking that page out as well.

Uplink Deus Ex skin!
1:55:13 AM EST - Eberon
|
I have returned from my (as they commonly become lately) unannounced vacation and was looking around when I found out that the semipopular but underappreciated Uplink game (a "hacking game") has the ability to be skinned lately. I was browsing some fansites when I noticed that someone created a Deus Ex skin for the game. If you play this game (and you should try it!), be sure to snag the Deus Ex skin from this fansite from the left sidebar. Very nifty!
Normal news updates will, of course, resume.

TNM Updates - Status & POTW
2:44:09 PM EST - Eberon

The Nameless Mod has updated with a new picture of the week. Trestkon also sends along word that Winquman is going into indefinite inactivity due to the fact that he's planning a major move soon! Best of luck to both parties!

Disclosure interview @ DXEditing
2:42:12 PM EST - Eberon
|
Our good friends at the recently rejuivinated DXEditing recently interviewed Face of the Disclosure project, which has been one of the elite few to have a release under its belt. Here's a small sample:
How much longer do you think you will be a part of this community? Do you plan to work on any Deus Ex 2 modifications?
I think I will always be a part of the community in some shape or form. Lately I haven't been as active as I once was, but this is largely down to me putting extra time into Disclosure. There are a couple of DX2 mods being planned already which I have a vested interest in, and I think it's safe to say that I will definitely be working with the DX2 editor and toolset when released. I have even been putting down ideas for a possible "Disclosure 2" because even after the 10 missions of the first mod, there's still many ways in which I could continue it.
What're you waiting for? Go read the rest!

DXE's mod spotlight: TNM
8:39:37 PM EST - Eberon
|
This month, DXEditing.com has chosen The Nameless Mod for their spotlight. Be sure to give the article a look! It has some very interesting information about the project, which seems to be doing as well as it has been for the past few months, which is to say very good!

The Unreal Mod Ideas Wiki opens!
8:35:06 PM EST - Eberon
|
We just recieved an email from Tarquin about the newly opened Unreal technology mod ideas Wiki. The idea is, apparently, to get massive amounts of people together to discuss and flesh out modding concepts for the upcoming UT 2003. Naturally, this news affects the Deus Ex world as well. You can see their newly opened site at this address. Their FAQ can be located here. Hopefully, this will be a handy resource for Unrealers and Deus modders alike!
